Water Sports with SAYC
Power boat owners are welcomed and encouraged to become active members of the SAYC. We now have power boaters in our membership ranging from 18 feet to more than 60 feet and don't forget our sailboats are powered by engines as well. Power boat skippers and sailors have many common interests centered around boating, racing and cruising.

- Participating with other boaters and members in periodic "Raft Ups" and picnics along the shore of out-of-the-way special places for boaters.
- Joining in the sailboat racing program by being the committee boat and timing events that are followed by joining friends who social activities back at our club.
- Helping to organize and participate in the "Rally on the River" event which is a very competitive scavenger hunt that tests your navigation skills.
- Participating as a member of the Dragon Boat rowing team. Dragon Boat racing is one of the fastest growing water sports in the country and our team is quite accomplished in only its second season, upcoming in 2018.
- Power boaters can also learn to sail through sailing programs sponsored by SAYC.
- Social events and outings are a big part of the benefits that club membership offers. There are many scheduled social events throughout the year that power boaters can enjoy. The Regatta of Lights and Blessing of the Fleet are yacht club sponsored events where all can participate and enjoy.
