Sailboat Racing

28th Annual Monkey's Uncle Race - May 2, 2021 

Carter Quillen came up with the idea to sponsor an ocean race to encourage first-time racers while he was serving on the SAYC board. This will be the 27th consecutive running of the race. Remembering his first race in 1990, the 165-mile Lauderdale to Key West Race, he wanted others to know how much fun it can be but closer to home. He always has three trophies in each of three classes awarded at the after-race party to provide racers with an immediate sense of pride.
